About Us

Communication is the driving force behind the Pinpoint organization. Originally established in 1918 as a rural telephone company in Cambridge, Nebraska, Pinpoint has proven itself as an aggressive, dynamic and intelligent leader in telecommunications technology.

Unlike many other "hometown" telephone companies, the local telco found its home in the ever-expanding universe of communications technology. In the 1990's, Pinpoint began under the leadership of Chairman J. Richard (Dick) Shoemaker and has since evolved into a dynamic and growing, diversified telecommunication company.

Pinpoint offers a rare combination of advanced technology and common sense with an unmatched level of customer service focused on long-term relationships and results, not a quick fix.  Data, voice, video and integrated solutions have helped hundreds of businesses become more efficient, more effective and more profitable.

Pinpoint's goal is to discover what is best for the customer, to apply communications technology to create economic opportunity, and finally, to deliver.  "How opportunity connects" is more than an advertising slogan.  It is a personal commitment that Pinpoint lives up to, for thousands of customers every day.

Broadband Internet

  • What is Broadband (High Speed) Internet?
Broadband is basically a high-speed internet connection. Yet unlike traditional internet connections which pass through a phone line and modem, broadband is a high brandwidth connection that is always on. It is easy to install and can transmit or download information up to or more than 70 times faster than a modem can.

  • How does Broadband work?
Broadband is the method used to send and receive data over high speed networks. Typically broadband connections that use cable or ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) have a greater capacity to send data than standard dial-up telephone networks. This means that broadband enables the user to receive more information to their computer in the same time than they would if they were using the traditional modem and dial-up connection. With broadband web pages can be viewed quicker, and e-mails can be sent and received in an instant.
